Upgrade components

In contrast to other upgrade items Phoenix Boxes, unlike other upgrade items, can be traded while still connected to the item they are upgrading, and are able to be used again after being salvaged. These upgrades are the best way to improve the quality of armor and weapons without spending Dilithium because they can increase the likelihood of receiving an upgrade by two times.
An upgrade component placed in an item can be replaced with another however, it will destroy the original (except for upgrades of legendaries and equipment that has been ascended). Only upgraded items that have an identification level of 0 or higher can have upgrade components added to them. Adding an upgrade to an existing weapon equipped with a prefix or suffix upgrade will display the name of the resulting item as it would appear in the game (for example adding the Radiant Insignia to Canthan Armor will cause it to be referred to as Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). A player can have up to three upgrade items at a time.
Glyphs
Glyphs are a fantastic accessory to any item. They provide unique benefits and boosts. Certain glyphs increase the number of affixes that an item has, increasing its power. These glyphs can be obtained by working through the dungeons. Some can even be located in specific World Tier 3 zones. However, it's important to keep in mind that glyphs cannot be used on a character that has not created a root dungeon with the same depth.
To use a Glyph you first have to create it using components, and then connect them using anchors. The component will then automatically align with other components or paths in the same layer. If you don't want to create the glyph using components, you can use an array of paths and anchors. Drag an element close to a component highlighted to lock it into the right spot.
Some glyphs have conditions to fulfill, for example having 25 Dexterity or more in a specific area on the Paragon Board. Certain glyphs also require a certain number of Primary Stat nodes to be activated which is sometimes difficult to attain. Some glyphs also have a radius, which increases as you move it up.
Glyphs are used for a wide variety of items and can be added to any weapon, except for weapons belonging to specific classes. Certain glyphs require conditions, such as having a certain number of damage from Dexterity or Attack in a specific area on the Paragon board.
The Defend Glyph has an 5% chance to block enemy attacks. It also has 15% chance to make the Hero vulnerable for 2 turns.
There are also a few glyphs that could be applied to limited-use tools like the Black Lion Chest or Trading Post. These glyphs count towards the Combat Mechanic Achievement.
The most popular glyphs used in the game are the attack glyphs which boost Artifacts' ATK substats by a fixed value. They are especially beneficial for ranged classes like Warriors and Rogues. Other glyphs include the Exploit Glyph, which makes enemies who hit the Hero vulnerable to being damaged.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens are used to reroll results that are rolled during an Action. They are destroyed when the reroll occurs. Reroll tokens can be obtained in several ways, including through the dungeons, raids and skirmishes. They can also be purchased at the shop, or from other players. They are particularly useful in dungeons or trials, since they allow players to reroll rewards from the end of the chest.
For items that are at level 1 there are values for recycling points. If an item is recycled it will add a certain number of points to the gauge of upgrade. This value scales based on the item's level and rarity. The upgraded item also will not be able to keep its level when recycled, and the cost to recycle an upgraded item increases as its level rises.
The player may also make use of reroll tokens to make an item rerollable. However, this will not restore the item's original stats, or level. This is useful for players who want to reroll a piece of equipment that they don't like but still want to keep in their collection.
Three different kinds of upgrade coins are available in the game - the reroll, the randomly generated, and upgrade. Each type has a few subtypes.
